PEANUT BUTTER RECALL |
01-22-09: Please read our latest statement regarding the peanut butter recall:
To All School Administrators:
Maschio's Food Services has been carefully monitoring the recent national peanut butter recall. We have been in contact with all of our distributors including the New Jersey Department of Agriculture Food Distribution office. None of our distributors carry the recalled peanut butter.
The Center for Disease Control and state health departments continue to investigate the association of the illness with other brands and foods that contain peanut butter. The Food and Drug Administration and the product manufacturers are working to determine the complete list of affected products. We have been diligently monitoring the FDA list and at this time as a precautionary measure, we are voluntarily suspending the use of all peanut butter and peanut butter containing products until more information becomes available and the list of brands and manufacturers has been finalized by the FDA.
