New School Lunch Nutrition Standards

This fall, Maschio's cafeterias are providing school meals that meet or exceed the new nutrition standards that were mandated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture this past January.

Nutrition Information

Welcome to Maschio's Food Services Nutrition Information Service!

NutritionInfokidsxpress.jpgHealthy meals grow healthy kids! That is the philosophy Maschio's is dedicated to incorporating into our school meal programs. "Mac" Maschio has helped us spread the news about the importance proper nutrition has in developing healthy children with healthy minds. School districts benefit from a food service company that takes a priority approach to good nutrition. Test scores, absenteeism and behavior are all affected by a student's nutritional status. Maschio's takes good nutrition and good food seriously!

NutritionInfolunchline.jpgDiscriminating purchasing and preparation techniques are all taken into consideration when planning menus for children. Maschio's has implemented the use of increased fresh fruits and vegetables and lower sodium and fat foods on school menus. We have increased the selections of whole grains and have eliminated frying of foods in most districts. We are constantly researching and procuring healthier, acceptable snacks for a la carte programs. Maschio's has worked in conjunction with districts to develop their nutrition component in their Wellness Policies. Marketing the healthier choices has been what sets us apart from other companies. Students are learning and becoming more aware of what is good for their bodies and brains by coming through the lunch line!
